Bio: Descended from a race of cryomancers, Kuai Liang grew up alongside his brother, Bi-Han, as members of the Lin Kuei assassins. Bi-Han originally took up the title of "Sub-Zero" and crushed the majority of the rival clan, the Shirai Ryu, but did not count on one such assassin rising from the depths of Hell to avenge the clan. Scorpion, the last Shirai Ryu, killed Bi-Han and Kuai Liang, desiring justice, took up his brother's former mantle. To this day, Sub-Zero and Scorpion are still eternal rivals.

Frosty Ninja (All-Rounder>Setups)
Sub-Zero’s skills and weaponry offers a balanced fighting style, but his cryokinesis can also force the opponent to adapt and cancel attack plans with proper timing. However, his super moves are arguably more supportive than outright-aggressive. A player with good fundamentals can win fights by using the right tools at the right time, while a skilled player would win by combining his melee, ice powers and super moves in a deadly offensive or defensive manner. Bottom line, Sub-Zero is a character that both novices and experts can find solid footing with.

Normals:
Standing Light Punch: A jab that can be followed up with another jab from the opposite hand.
Standing Medium Punch: Throws a right hook high at the opponent's head.
Standing Heavy Punch: Charges ice in his palms and thrusts them forward, creating an icy burst that launches the foe back with a small chance of freezing them.
Standing Light Kick: A knee-strike that can be followed by a quick backstep into a side kick.
Standing Medium Kick: A back-kick to the opponent's midsection.
Standing Heavy Kick: An ice-charged roundhouse kick with a moderate chance of freezing the opponent in place, albeit with a short charge-time.
Air Light Punch: Jabs forward.
Air Medium Punch: Elbows forward and can flow into a karate chop.
Air Heavy Punch: Extends a palm forward with an aura of ice surrounding it. Has a small chance of freezing the opponent.
Air Light Kick: Knees forward.
Air Medium Kick: Extends his leg to perform a flying kick.
Air Heavy Kick: Engulfs his foot in ice and delivers an axe-kick to floor the opponent.
Crouching Light Punch: Jabs forward once with each fist.
Crouching Medium Punch: A high-angled hook punch.
Crouching Heavy Punch: Rises up with an uppercut, using an axe made of ice.
Crouching Light Kick: Kicks low across the ground.
Crouching Medium Kick: Spins on the ground, leg extended, to trip unguarding opponents.
Crouching Heavy Kick: Thrusts forward with a foot, creating a cloud of icy mist with a low chance of freezing the opponent.

Special Attacks:
-Iceball: Sub-Zero fires a ball of freezing cold from his palms that will freeze the opponent if it hits successfully, holding them still until they button mash free or are attacked.

-Ice Clone: Sub-Zero retreats backward, leaving a life-size statue of ice in his wake. If the opponent hits it with a physical attack, they will freeze briefly. Projectiles will break it, but be neutralized as well.
*Klone Toss: If Sub-Zero is close to an Ice Clone, using the same command input will result in him spinning it around and hurling it at the opponent.

-Slide: Sub-Zero uses ice to slide across the floor, hitting low to trip opponents up.

-Cold Arsenal: Sub-Zero forms one of three weapons out of ice depending on the strength of the attack button.
LIGHT: Creates twin daggers and performs a series of weak, but fast slashes.
MEDIUM: Creates a sword and swings twice to push the opponent back.
HEAVY: Creates a hammer and smashes it down on the ground, shattering into pieces that can damage opponents further.

Tele-Frost: Sub-Zero falls backward as the floor behind him turns to ice. He disappears into the ice on contact, then rises up from a different part of the stage.

Throws
FORWARD: Sub-Zero grabs the opponent's face, coats it in ice, then smashes it with a karate chop that grounds the opponent.

BACKWARD: Sub-Zero stabs the opponent with an ice dagger, then dashes behind them and hacks at their back with an ice sword.

Super Moves:
-Blizzard: Sub-Zero clasps his hands together, then thrusts his palms forward. An ice-cold wind erupts from his palms, spanning the whole stage and barraging the opponent with rapid-fire strikes from flying ice crystals. If enough crystals land successfully, they will freeze the opponent in place for a brief period of time. If successfully executed, Dan Forden will come up and say "Frosty!"

-Deep Freeze: Sub-Zero shoots a short-range spray of ice-cold mist. If the opponent is successfully struck with it, they will turn bluish-white. In this state, their movement will become sluggish and their defense will sharply drop. They'll gradually get faster and tougher, but it builds gradually over the span of several seconds.

-Icebreaker: Sub-Zero sends a jet of ice-cold down at the opponent's feet. If it connects properly, they will be frozen to the ground and summons a pair of daggers to slash and stab the opponent. He then summons a giant sword to cut the opponent up, then finally freezes the opponent's whole body, summons a giant hammer, and smashes the opponent with it, breaking the ice and flooring the opponent.


FATALITIES:
-Spine Rip: Sub-Zero freezes the opponent to the ground, ice crawling from their feet all the way up to their shoulders. He then grabs them by the neck and, after a few attempts, pulls their head off, their spine dangling from the stump of their neck. He then holds up the head like a trophy for all to see.

-Frozen in Time: Sub-Zero creates an ice-clone holding a spear, then slides forward to flip the opponent over his head and impale them on the spear. He then turns to the upside-down opponent, plunges his hand into their chest and rips out their spine, the opponent's head still attached. Finally, he swings the head to impale them through the eye with the clone's spear.

FRIENDSHIP: Frosty Treats
Sub-Zero raises his hands in victory, then runs off-stage with a giddy spring in his step. Then he returns, riding in on an ice cream machine, music blaring at max volume. He grinds to a halt, then pulls out a popsicle stick before holding it up to his hand and using his ice powers to create a frozen treat over it—colored, flavored and everything, too.


Intro: Ice forms on the ground and slowly builds up into the form of Sub-Zero who breaks free of the ice and casts a glower at the opponent.

Outro: Sub-Zero puts up a hand, forming a sizeable ice crystal, then clenches his fist and shatters it before folding his arms across his chest.

Prologue: Gateways to other worlds were appearing all over Earthrealm, drawing the attention of the Lin Kuei. After failed attempts to try and contact his fellow Kombatants and Defenders of Earthrealm, Sub-Zero, Grandmaster of the Lin Kuei, took matters into his own hands. Taking his first steps through the portal, he found himself in a realm unlike any he had ever seen--an amalgamation of various worlds with varying levels of technological and magical development. Sub-Zero did not falter, opting to face the challenges of Death Battle head-on.


Rival Cutscene:
(In a wind-whipped, glacial area, Sub-Zero wanders across the frozen landscape in search of his opponent. No one appears to be around, and the wind is buffeting him enough to test his abilities.)

Sub-Zero: How am I supposed to find anyone or anything in this place? I must seek shelter soon...

(Sub-Zero scans the area, then finds a small cave entrance and holes up in it to weather out the biting wind. As he waits for the storm to lessen, he takes time to dwell on what he has pieced together so far...)

Sub-Zero: This world is unlike anything the likes of Earthrealm or Outworld have ever shown. Who, or what, could possess such power and use it so carelessly?

(After a few minutes of waiting, the winds finally seem to die down. Sub-Zero emerges from the cave and his eyes go wide at the sight of a vast crash site.)

Sub-Zero: ...What could have built this vessel? More importantly...who could have brought it down?

(Sub-Zero cautiously enters the vessel, his eyes going back and forth as he inspects his surroundings. He's simultaneously on edge for potential attackers and in awe of the complexity of the design.)

Sub-Zero: It's quiet...TOO quiet.

(Sub-Zero suddenly halts as he spies a strange liquid on the ground. He thinks its water at first, but notices an odd glimmer that makes it look more like liquid crystal. After a brief pause, the puddle suddenly slides towards him and rises up to take a physical form. Sub-Zero backs away quickly and, at a good distance, he looks up to see the puddle reconstruct into a tall, alien figure.

Sub-Zero: You...It appears this vessel has a jealous guardian.

(Glacius nods, but sends a telepathic message that is appropriately captioned...)

Glacius: (I am, but the matters I attend to are not for you to intervene in. Leave.)

Sub-Zero: I'm afraid I have to defy your request. Things are in motion and I have to find out what they are and why they are moving.

(Glacius forms a pair of ice crystals in his palms...)

Glacius: (Then I'm afraid you leave me no choice.)

Sub-Zero: Challenge accepted. (forms ice in his hands) I'll shatter that icy shell you hide behind!

(Fade to black.)


Ending: Sub-Zero's victory in the world of Death Battle made him an even greater legend among the Lin Kuei. Choosing not to cut connections to other worlds, Sub-Zero instead extended an offer to other assassin clans across the worlds. Even his long rivalry with Scorpion seemed to repair itself when the true story was revealed to them by Lord Raiden. With the good favor of multiple master assassins, a new alliance was born--a Deadly Alliance.
